Had an overall good experience. Went for a tetanus shot, the receptionist was ok, sent me to the doctor, the doctor was quite nice too. Both spoke some English (I speak a little Montenegrin). The doctor gave me prescription for vaccination, the nurse was nice and the injections weren’t painful. So I’d say everything went even better than I thought. I spent less than an hour, paid about 50 euros (the doctor’s consultation + vaccine itself)

Reviews
86My experience at 3 a.m. in this hospital was wonderful.
I came for food poisoning and the care was quick (after spending 2 hours looking for the hospital with the lady from 112 who didn't speak English and was yelling at us).
After telling me to be a man and accept that I hadn't waited until morning to come, she gave me 3 injections (one missed) and threw water in my face to prevent vasovagal syncope.
In the end, we are in the Balkans, I wasn't expecting more or less.
I hope the doctor who missed my injection into the muscle has improved since.
An experience to have once in your life.
My girlfriend and I got food poisoning while staying in Herceg Novi in July 2024, and we didn't have health insurance. The Dom zdravlja Kotor team gave us first aid and put us on an IV drip. They were a huge help. Thanks to them, a thousand times over.
TR&ENG Review
I was stung by a wasp, and due to an allergic reaction, the back of my calf became completely swollen and red. At Kotor City Hospital, they just told me to take a pill and apply some cream, then sent me home. By night, the pain became unbearable, so we checked the map and went to this hospital. Contrary to the bad reviews, the emergency team there was very helpful and solution-oriented — the doctor even spoke Turkish! They gave me the necessary injections, and thanks to them, I was able to enjoy the rest of my holiday comfortably. The negative reviews might be due to communication issues or differences between medical teams, I'm not sure.
NOTE: In Turkish reviews, I've seen a common criticism not only about this hospital but also other locations across Montenegro — people often complain about rudeness and interpret it as racism. There may, of course, be cases where that's true. But from what I've generally observed, Montenegrins aren't particularly warm or smiley; they tend to communicate directly, regardless of nationality. They're the same way with each other, too. For us Turks, who come from a culture that's very warm and hospitable toward guests, this can feel quite foreign and even personal.
I don't understand most of these negative comments. The claim that someone from Serbia or another country didn't get the same treatment is a lie. I myself have personally brought foreigners to the emergency room many times, to various doctors, and they have always been normal. The doctors and staff of our Dom zdravlja are not racists, and if they tell you they don't have a particular vaccine, then they certainly don't. They are always available within their means. They are knowledgeable, all very kind, wonderful and professional, starting from the director on down. — A woman from Kotor
