A few days ago I had a scheduled appointment with an ophthalmologist. I arrived even before the scheduled time, but unfortunately ended up waiting for almost an hour. Every time I asked the receptionist when it would be my turn, the only response was “soon.” In the end, I had to leave before the examination even took place. I believe patients should be treated with the same respect for their time as we are expected to show by arriving punctually for our appointments.
I would also like to point out a few additional concerns. Discussing patients’ diagnoses in the hallway, where others are waiting, is not professional and does not respect patient privacy. Additionally, part of the examination even minor ones, being conducted in the waiting area in front of other patients does not seem appropriate for a healthcare facility.
Finally, I would like to ask why a personal identification number (JMBG) is required for this type of visit. When someone comes for an eye examination, it raises the question of whether collecting such personal data is truly necessary or if more information is being gathered than required.
I hope this feedback will be taken as constructive and used to improve organization and the overall treatment of patients.
