During my trip, I got sick and was told that I needed to go to the emergency room. As soon as I arrived, everyone was very helpful and friendly. The doctor who examined me spoke very good English and even cracked some jokes. Puno hvala!

When coming down with a really bad case of tonsillitis in Montenegro I was really scared, I would say it’s the worst bout of tonsillitis I’ve ever had. Luckily we were close to the health centre, so my friend took me there. Whilst acknowledging that hospitals in every country are different (quite different to uk for people travelling from uk to Montenegro), I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone spoke enough English to get by, the doctor I spoke to was as thorough as my local GP would’ve been, and I got my treatment without any long waits or inconveniences. The treatment was affordable, less than I expected. One note is that it seems you need to knock on the door number you’re given if nobody is already noticeably waiting there. If you do happen to be unlucky enough to need to seek medical help I’d recommend this centre. I was treated with 3x Penicillin injections over 3 days and they were really cautious about allergies and making sure I waited for a few minutes after having the injection done. Thank you to everyone who helped!
My friend had worsening tonsillitis, she was seen within an hour by a doctor, she was assessed and given an injection with antibiotics, we returned for 2 more days to continue the course and was given a prescription for 7 more days worth of oral antibiotics to complete a 10 day course. All of that for €24 and €9 for the prescription ! An easy process and staff spoke good English.
I want to publicly thank and praise the employees at the Health Centre Herceg Novi who helped my mother this morning when she felt unwell. They provided her with immediate help, took care of her, showed her so much attention and humanity that words cannot describe it. What can I say, except to write that they are people of great heart and soul, humanists.

People write different things about Dom zdravlja in Herceg Novi. I always manage to get everything done quickly. The staff is polite and patient, they explain and show everything from start to finish.
But it's better to be healthy and wealthy, as they say. If only because to climb to the top where the clinic is located, you'll need the strength of a track athlete.
Parking spots are extremely limited!
